New Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellow

A warm welcome to Jordan Girardin as Leibniz-DAAD fellow at the IEG. During his time in Mainz he will work on his project "A 'Hopeful' Language in a 'Friendly Place': Actors and Networks of Esperanto in Western Europe (c. 1870s–1920s)". He received his PhD on the history of travel in the Alps at the University of St Andrews, and since then he has been lecturing, tutoring, and doing research there.
