The interdisciplinary and international conference is the kick-off event for the long-term project »Europäische Religionsfrieden Digital (EuReD)« – »European Religious Peace Agreements - A Digital Edition«, a cooperation between the Leibniz Institute of European History Mainz, the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz and the University and State Library Darmstadt. The conference examines the significance of religious peace arrangements for the constitution and law in early modern Europe and the extent to which they affected the theory and practice of religious tolerance.
