What did "border security" look like in late antiquity compared to today? How did the borders of Europe develop historically? This will be discussed by Prof. Dr. Johannes Paulmann, Director of the Department of Universal History at the Leibniz Institute of European History in Mainz, Dr. Christof Flügel, archaeologist and chief conservator from the Landesstelle für die nichtstaatlichen Museen in Bayern, Munich, and Dr. Sascha Werthes, research associate at the Chair of International Relations and Foreign Policy at the University of Trier.
