The Young Excellence Days take place at the same time as the »Science Week« of the MAINZ SCIENCE ALLIANCE, of which the IEG is a member, and at the same time form its prelude. The special fishbowl discussion-format gives those present from the audience the opportunity to take a seat on the podium for a while and to discuss with the experts. Based on the question "And what do you do with it?", the experts will shed light on research areas that (at first glance) have no immediate use in everyday life. Benedikt Brunner raises the question on the basis of his research on funerary inscriptions. The "Tage der Jungen Exzellenz" will take place for the first time on 12 and 13 September 2022. This event aims to network students, doctoral students and doctoral graduates at the science location Mainz with each other and with the institutions across disciplines and institutes, to make their research visible beyond their own disciplinary boundaries and accessible to a broad public.
