Together with two representatives of the organization »Combatants for Peace«, we invite you to the discussion event »Hoffnung statt Hass« at the IEG on Sunday, October 12, 2025, starting at 3:00 p.m. Since 2006, »Combatants for Peace« has been bringing together former combatants from both sides in Israel and Palestine. We invite you to hear for yourself how it is possible to break out of the spiral of hatred and violence in the Middle East. Our guests will talk about their personal and often difficult journeys. Their experiences are an impressive sign of hope from a region whose conflicts have also led to debate in Germany, where the divides sometimes seem unbridgeable. The event is jointly organized by the Friedensakademie Rheinland-Pfalz, RPTU Landau, and the Leibniz Institute for European History, Mainz.
