Review of Bernhard Gißibl's “The Nature of German Imperialism” in American Historical Review
The American Historical Review published a positive review on Bernhard Gißibl’s "The Nature of German Imperialism: Convervation and the Politics of Wildlife in Colonial East Africa."

The article says that in his book Gißibl "ranges over a number of subfields of history with an ease that astonishes. At once imperial history, transnational history, gender history, domestic German history, and animal-human history, Gissibl’s exhaustive work is a multilayered account of wildlife management as it related to colonial governance in what was then German East Africa." And it ends with the conclusion that "Gissibl’s book will remain the last word on the subject of wildlife management in German East Africa for a long time to come".
