Article about digitization of "Bomber's Baedeker" published in Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung

In the Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung of Tuesday, July 9, Michael Bermeitinger reports in detail about the rare edition of "Bomber's Baedeker" of the IEG library, now available online on "Gutenberg Capture - Digital Collections" of Mainz University Library. This second edition of the strategic handbook of the British Air Force from 1944 classified war important industrial enterprises in Germany into a priority system for the target approaches of the bomber pilots. The article gives an overview of the targets mentioned in "Bomber's Baedeker" in Mainz and the surrounding area and the strategic considerations of the British and American air forces in 1944 and in spring 1945 during the bombardment of the Rhine-Main region.
