"Europäische Köpfe in Mainz. Die Direktoren des Instituts für Europäische Geschichte" - Publication on the 70th anniversary of the IEG

European history has been researched in Mainz - for 70 years at the Leibniz Institute for European History (IEG). Its "heads", the directors, each set their own emphasis in their commitment to realize the Institute's founding mission: to advance historical research on the foundations of Europe and thus contribute to bringing Europe closer together. Not only their different characters, but also their different approaches to European history become tangible.
The publication stands for itself and at the same time creates direct references to the IEG's anniversary exhibition " Vom Kalten Krieg zum europäischen Umbruch. Das Institut für Europäische Geschichte 1950–1990", also available online.
Irene Dingel is director of the IEG, Department "Abendländische Religionsgeschichte"
