DigiKAR - Johannes Paulmann in conversation with SWR2
IEG director Johannes Paulmann introduces the cooperation project "Digitale Karten-Werkstatt Altes Reich" (DigiKAR) in an interview with SWR2 "Journal am Mittag" from 13. 09. 2021. The aim of the project is to get away from the word and the idea of the patchwork and to visualize the connections between territories beyond territorial borders. DigiKAR is a collaborative project of the Leibniz Institute of European History Mainz, the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography Leipzig, the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Research Regensburg, the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales Paris, France. The project will develop and explore concepts for the collection, modeling, and visualization of spatial historical information from the early modern Holy Roman Empire (German Nation). The project receives funding from the Leibniz Association.
