Matthieu Arnold as Senior Research Fellow at the IEG
We are very happy to welcome Prof. Dr. Matthieu Arnold back as Senior Research Fellow at the IEG. During his stay at the IEG, he will focus on his research on the biography of Albert Schweitzer.

Matthieu Arnold is Professor of History of Modern and Contemporary Christianity at the Faculty of Protestant Theology of the University of Strasbourg. His research focuses on the Reformation in the 16th century and Western Christianity in the first half of the 20th century. In the past, he has been a guest at the IEG several times, most recently in 2015 as a Senior Research Fellow. He has published numerous works, including the biography of Martin Luther, for which he received the Pierre-Antoine Bernheim Prize from the Académie des Inscription et Belles-Lettres. Two publications and an anthology have appeared as part of the publications of the Institute for European History Mainz.
