Andrea Hofmann in the podcast "#InsideAkademie" of the Akademie für Wissenschaften und Literatur | Mainz

IEG employee Andrea Hofmann, member of the Junge Akademie, speaks in the podcast of the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz on her research on the image of war, as it was drawn in sermons and devotional writings drawn in the years 1914–1918 in southwest Germany (Palatinate, Baden, Württemberg, Hesse, Alsace-Lorraine). Andrea Hofmann was recently habilitated with her work on this topic.

Her investigations of sermons during the World War, especially the Protestant pastors in southwestern Germany, led Andrea Hofmann to theological observations. Thus, the pastors had tried to interpret the war theologically in order to assist the people at the front and in the homeland.
