IEG welcomes Prof. Dr. Philip Dwyer as Senior Research Fellow

Prof. Dr. Philip Dwyer will be conducting research at the IEG from May. Dr. Dwyer comes from the University of Newcastle in Australia and will work on "The Savage Heat: A Global History of Human Violence" for two months. The IEG is looking forward to the cooperation!




Prof. Dr Philip Dwyer is Professor of History at the University of Newcastle and founding Director of the Centre for the History of Violence at the University of Newcastle, Australia. His primary research interest was once eighteenth-century Europe, with a particular focus on the Napoleonic Empire. His interest has since shifted to world history and the history of violence. He is currently working on a global history of violence.
