New EGO article: “International Social Movements Before 1945” by Stefan Berger

On Europäische Geschichte Online (EGO), the new English-language article "International Social Movements Before 1945" by Stefan Berger has been published under the auspices of the IEG.
Since the 1970s, a new discipline has emerged - Social Movement Studies - dedicated to the study of social movements. This article provides a brief introduction to the history of international social movements before 1945. The author, Stefan Berger, offers reflections on the theories and problems involved in the study of these movements. He gives the reader an overview of the social movements studied, highlights the most important research findings and points out avenues that would be worth exploring further.
