IEG welcomes Dr. Joshua Bennett as Senior Research Fellow
On 1 December 2022, the IEG welcomes Dr Joshua Bennett as Senior Research Fellow. Joshua Bennett is a Darby Fellow and Tutor in Modern History at Lincoln College, University of Oxford. During his time at the IEG, he will devote himself to his research on "The Science of ethics and the beginnings of liberal social thought, 1880-1940".





He is interested in the intersections between nineteenth- and twentieth-century British, European and North American history, particularly with regard to intellectual and religious life. His work focuses on the history of liberalism and its critics since the nineteenth century, particularly in relation to historical thought and social theory, and the impact of religious and secular beliefs in these areas of debate. During his time at the IEG, he will devote himself to his research on "The Science of ethics and the beginnings of liberal social thought, 1880-1940".
