Extension of the application deadline for IEG LivArch Fellowship
The application deadline for the IEG LivArch Fellowship has been extended until 16 June 2025. The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz awards one fellowship for a period of six to twelve months for doctoral students or one fellowship for four to eight months for postdocs as a part of the joint project “LivArch - Documenting Russia’s war against Ukraine: The challenges of living archives for historical knowledge production”. The fellowship supports doctoral students or postdocs who wish to carry out their own research project. There is a particular interest in projects that align with ongoing research at the IEG.About the project: The war in Ukraine has led to three significant changes in historical research: the emergence of new types of community-driven archives, the generation of archival material in real time, and the increased reliance on digital sources due to the inaccessibility of physical archives. LivArch aims to address these challenges, explore digital preservation practices and establish forms of shared authorship between scholars and activists as archive creators.
