Review of Thomas Weller's habilitation »Ungleiche Partner« published

According to reviewer Magnus Ressel, the nearly 700-page work is impressive »due to its coverage and analysis of a large number of extremely heterogeneous sources.« Weller has »not only succeeded in critically re-examining Hanseatic-Spanish relations,« but also made »a fundamental contribution to the history of early modern foreign relations.«
Thomas Weller has been a research fellow at the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) since 2008. In 2022, he obtained his habilitation at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and received the venia legendi for modern history.
