Celebrating 75 Years of the Leibniz Institute of European History
This year, the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz celebrates its 75th anniversary. To mark this milestone, a festive ceremony will take place on November 6 at the Staatstheater Mainz, welcoming guests from academia, politics, and public life. Minister-President Alexander Schweitzer will open the event with a welcoming address.
The internationally renowned historian Sir Christopher Clark, Regius Professor of History at the University of Cambridge, will deliver the keynote lecture on:
"1848 im Rückspiegel – Resonanzen einer europäischen Revolution."
The IEG’s Directors, Prof. Dr. Nicole Reinhardt and Prof. Dr. Johannes Paulmann, will join former research associate and now Professor at the University of Vienna, Prof. Dr. Katharina Stornig for a conversation about the Institute’s journey and future: “Das IEG - gestern, heute, morgen.”
