The Research Coordination serves as the interface between the Executive Board, the research community, administration, the Academic Advisory Board, the Leibniz Association, and funding bodies. Its responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the strategic development of the Institute
- Supporting budget planning
- Documenting and reporting on scientific activities
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinating research projects and third-party funding applications
- Advising researchers on grant applications and career planning
- Supporting public relations and science communication
- Assisting in the organisation of conferences
