Senior Research Fellowship

The Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) Programme invites distinguished international scholars to Mainz for a duration of 1 to 6 months. During their tenure at the Institute, they have the opportunity to pursue their individual research projects and to engage with the wider community of researchers at the IEG. The programme consolidates existing as well new collaborations to foster and encourage the development of new joint research projects. Senior Research Fellows are provided with an office space at the Institute and free guest accommodation in the centre of Mainz.

The funding

• Stays ranging from a few weeks to several months are possible
• Free stay in our modern, fully equipped guest apartment in Mainz’s old town with bed linen and cleaning service
• €30 daily allowance
• Travel expenses covered up to €500 (within the EU) or €750 (from outside the EU)
• Use of a shared office
• Opportunity to present your research project at the weekly research colloquium and to share your expert knowledge in a workshop
• Opportunity to use the Institute’s academic infrastructure and participate in all activities
