IEG Connect is an initiative at the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz, supported by the Ministry of Science and Health. It aims to promote knowledge transfer and networking, while enhancing the visibility of European historical research.
Within the framework of the initiative, innovative approaches to knowledge dissemination and public engagement are developed. The podcast Epochal and targeted social media strategies expand the Institute’s international reach and strengthen knowledge exchange with key audiences such as academic networks and schools.
A key component of IEG Connect is the active involvement of alumni. They not only serve as multipliers in communicating research findings but also enrich the Institute’s academic and public programmes. In their role as ambassadors, they foster interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue between scholarship and society.
Sustainability is a central goal of IEG Connect. The initiative creates lasting structures for networking and knowledge exchange that extend beyond the funding period. By integrating new communication strategies and engaging diverse stakeholder groups, it achieves a long-term and meaningful impact.
Thus, IEG Connect stands for the sustainable communication of the IEG’s research and the establishment of new platforms for dialogue on European history.
