Das Augustana-Jubiläum von 1830 im Kontext von Kirchenpolitik, Theologie und kirchlichem Leben

Johannes Hund leistet mit seiner Studie einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Transfer der Fragestellungen der jubiläumshistorischen Forschung in die Kirchen- und Theologiegeschichte. Der geschichtswissenschaftlichen Jubiläumsforschung wird in dieser Untersuchung ein theologiegeschichtlicher Blick auf die Innenseite der kirchlichen Jubiläen an die Seite gestellt. Anhand des Augustana-Jubiläums von 1830 wird exemplarisch den kirchenpolitischen und theologiegeschichtlichen Auswirkungen der Jubiläumskultur nachgegangen. Dabei geraten auch die innerkirchlichen Diskussionen um die kirchenpolitische und theologische Identität der evangelischen Kirche in den Fokus der Darstellung.

This survey brings issues raised by recent historical research into celebrations of jubilees into the examination of church history and the history of theology. This study supplements the historic research of jubilees with a theological and historical analysis of the internal workings of ecclesiastical jubilees. With the celebration of the anniversary of the Augsburg Confession in 1830 this survey examines the impacts of the jubilee culture on the internal life of the church and on the history of its theology. It also takes a closer look at the function of the Augustana jubilee on the formation and modification of theological positions. Discussions within the churches on the question of the internal affairs and theological identity of the Protestant church are also examined in this study.
