(for a period of 36 months, German pay grade TV-L EG 13)
The project »Living & Realtime Archives« is funded by the Leibniz Association as part of the »Cooperative Excellency« program.
The war in Ukraine has led to three significant changes in historical research: the emergence of new types of community-driven archives, the real-time generation of archival material, and the increased reliance on digital sources due to the inaccessibility of physical archives. LivArch aims to address these challenges, investigate digital preservation practices and establish forms of shared authorship between scholars, activists as archive creators and the many voices behind the testimonies that constitute the archive. A transnational collaboration, LivArch identifies ethical challenges, develops new epistemological concepts and reflects on the impact of digital archiving on historical research.
