New Review of “Mobility and Differentiation” published

Following the review on H-Soz-Kult of “Mobility and Differentiation: On the Construction of Differences and Belonging in Early Modern Europe”, edited by IEG Director Johannes Paulmann, Sarah Panter, and Thomas Weller, both research associates at the IEG, another highly positive review has now appeared in the review journal sehepunkte.

Regarding the editors’ and authors’ conceptual approach, Alexander Schunka writes: “This approach brings together various aspects that have already played a role in recent works on historical migration research, but which have not always been clearly articulated in a conceptual way.”

He concludes: “[…] behind a rather abstract title lie very rich and multifaceted perspectives on the question of how individuals and collectives determine or creatively negotiate belonging.”
