On 7 October, the IEG, in cooperation with CinéMayence, invites audiences to a screening of two short films by filmmakers from the Mainz region, presented as part of the Natur/Im/Filmtage film festival.
The two documentaries, Südwestwind by Annika Sehn and Unseen Line by LOFT ARTS Filme, explore Namibia’s natural environment and wildlife and examine the consequences of human intervention in the natural world. While Südwestwindfocuses on the wild horses of the Namib Desert, which were left behind by German colonial troops more than a century ago and are now threatened with extinction, Unseen Line turns its attention to the Namibian coast, following the Ocean Conservation Namibia team in its efforts to combat marine pollution.
Following the screenings, the audience will have the opportunity to continue the discussion in a Q&A with the filmmakers. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Bernhard Gißibl.
