“Writing European History / Europäische Geschichte schreiben” – Der Blog des IEG

The blog “Writing European History / Europäische Geschichte schreiben” presents the historical research at the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz. Researchers and guests of the Institute introduce their topics and findings in different sections, including interviews, reports, new publications, commentaries, and the series “Research in Focus”, which highlights current research at the IEG.

The first six contributions are already online:

  • Manfred Sing’s exploration of the Peasants’ War.

  • An interview with Stephen Burnett about Luther and the Jews.

  • A research report by Henning Jürgens on Frankfurt during the Peasants’ War.

  • A research report by Kilian Harrer on the challenges pilgrims faced in Napoleonic times.

  • A report on the award ceremony for Malin Wilckens and her research on human skulls.

  • A report on the IEG event marking the founding of the hist4dem network.

The editorial team wishes you an enjoyable time exploring the different topics!
