| What was life like for Indians in Europe between the late 1500s and early 1600s? How well were they connected to the elite European society through their social networks? Answers to these questions lie in the writings of some Indians/ Portuguese Indians who migrated to Europe in the early seventeenth century. As part of my postdoctoral research at IEG, I will explore the writings of one such Portuguese Indian, Andreas Baianus (1566-1638). |
